does my dog hate me? ?
i just got a puppy 2 mos ago and i have been training her since. she knows how to sit, come, shake and eliminate outside but sometimes i feel that she is afraid of me because i impose rules like no biting and reprimand her for it. i feel like when she is around others she is so excited and when i get to hold her she is just calm and not licking me. i dont hit her or make her afraid of me but i give her positive reinforcement and if she needs it, a squirt of water in the face and a direct NO.
how can i get her to be lovey with me like she is with strangers?
ps. i play with her plenty and give her treats when she does good deeds.
pss. i spend all day with her! she comes to work with me and we go on walks and runs.
I would quit with the water. Use positive methods for training. Dogs always like the other person better. It's like "Yay! New People". Be glad that your dog has good social skills and keep reinforcing that. She loves you, but respects you too.
