My 9 month old is fighting sleep!!!?
Up untill now bed time and nap time has been no problem, usually I put him in his crib with his soother and off to sleep he goes. Now he's 9 months old putting him down to sleep is something else! He will stand up in his crib and scream, I'll go back repeatedly to try and settle him but as soon as I leave the room he's back up and crying again, and I know he is so tired:( It's just weird how all of a sudden his sleeping routine has changed so much. I know he could be teething, or thinking of all the fun things he could be doing instead of sleep but he needs to sleep and I wish it wasn't such a fight every time. If you know any tricks please let me know, Thanks.
I disagree with Stephen. I think that the best thing is to keep him on a schedule. Otherwise he will never want to go down. I am having the SAME problems with my 10 month old daughter. Weird thing is she goes right down for her Grammy when she is visiting. I dont' think it benefits the baby to let them cry...i know for my daughter at least, she'll cry til she makes herself sick. What i do now is put her down at the same time every night after we've had her tubby and some quiet time reading or snuggling (as hard as it is with her busybody). If she starts getting up or trying to play i leave the room for 1-2 minutes and go back in at that point if she hasn't stopped crying and try again lay her down and stand over her crib if she tries to play again i repeat...I also let her know verbally if you get up then Mommy is leaving, it's bedtime now. It takes a good 3 tries but eventually she gets it and all in all it's only about 15-20 minutes. I hope it gets easier.
