It took a concerned Swedish mother to make it. Marlene Sandberg, a former law partner and mother of two boys. "I started my company with the determination to make a high-performance diaper that was more friendly to nature and healthier for the child... |

Question for the Mommas, do you think...?
Do you think some parents over worry, or buy into things too often?
Im a member on a few pregnancy and parenting sites, and on one particular site I'm shocked at how many mother's will lecture others over stupid things such as using "really unhealthy" tap water instead of nursery water, or saying only babies who use disposable diapers will get rashes and only organic cloth diapers are good for babies skin.
Do you think too many moms buy into all of it, and everything that "experts" claim to be best for baby and the little "necessities" that babies "need" but you never really end up using?
Exactly! I don't know how many times myself or someone else has said "every baby is different" or "only you know what is best for your baby" and someone always responds with "well doctors say....". I guess some people forget instincts when their child is involved lol
Yes, definitely. The whole allergy thing irks me...there is need to be somewhat cautious, but not overly cautious. No one in my family has allergies, I was fed big people food at 4 months...if I want to give my child eggs at 6 months I am going to. I don't care what the dr says about allergies. And you know, everything I have given him that they told me not to (egg, yogurt, fish) he has been fine.
People just need to go with their instincts. Humans survived for centuries without tap water...they got water from streams (and back then there weren't near the regulations on what can go into streams). I never once used nursery water, I never boiled his water. Heck, I never once sterilized his bottles. I took them out of the package, put some tap water in, and then added formula. And you know, my son is growing fine, he's 8 months old and 24 lbs..he's doing fine.
