should i change on to follow on milk?

my baby is 6 months old and is on aptimal first, has 3 bottles aday approx 23oz a day in total,
also has 3 meals a day from jar food (hipp organic)
would you change him on to follow on milk (aptimal stage 3) even though she is happy on the aptimal first?
I didnt use the follow on milk i was told it was a waste of money by my health vistior. I used sma gold for my daughter, went onto the sma blue for hungy babies about 9 months and started giving full fat cows milk when she turned one
