Four month old - how much cereal, formula & jar baby food?
My baby takes a whole jar of organic baby food (loves the carrots). Is one jar enough? He is 16 pounds and 26.5 inches tall.
Should I give him formula and cereal/jar food at the same feeding?
The baby food jar is 2.5 ounces. And he is mostly breastfeed otherwise. Occasional bottle of formula.
Our doc said to start giving him cereal.
WHOA...that way to much to be feeding a 4 month old! my son is 18 lbs and 26 inches tall and my doc suggested i gave him a couple of bites of cereal and as he gets older no more than 2 tbsps of fruits and veggies PER DAY. rice cereal 2tbsps twice a day...this is for a 6 month old, so with a 4 month old i would give him bites of things and DONT replace this with a normal formula or breast sesson...good luck...i think people are gonna be harsh on you , lol people were mean to me when i asked if i should give him cereal at 4 months.
EDIT: someone mentioned giving the baby meat gerber, i want to make sure you know a 4 month old should not be eating meat gerber. I give my son the organic baby food and they have stages on them, stage 1 2 and 3 ..of course your baby is in stage 1 foods. i think meat is the last stage...if you are saying you give him a jar a day i think thats better, i thought you were saying a jar at each feeding. You should mix it up, give him some tastes of fruit and veggies both. but like i said, formula feed first and then give the baby food to make sure the baby is getting his nutrients, he will not be getting this from the jars of food.
