What are Phthalates, PBDEs, polyurethanes? What should I look for when buying a baby mattress & changing pad?
I'm shopping for a mattress and changing pad for my baby before she gets out, and I was wondering what is the best option for sensitive skin (I expect her to have sensitive skin because both my husband and I have sensitive skin and eczema).
Is organic the best? What ingredients should I avoid?
I don't really know what Phthalates, PBDEs, polyurethanes (etc) are...although it seems like the products without them are the recommended products.
If any of you know about these, can you explain them to me! Thanks =)
Phathalates are a group of chemical compounds that are in Plastic. =Toxic substance
PBDE is a flame retardant =Toxic substance
Polyurethanes = Toxic
I would recommend a pure cotton fabric or any of the fabrics that are organic.
