How can I get my almost 2 year old each solid foods?
He refuses to eat the baby food that he used to love! From squash, to green beans and rice, apples and banana cereal, etc. I have tried mashed potatoes, grain rice, apple sauce anything you can possibly think of. He is lactose and tolerant so he can not have regular whole milk so he drinks organic soy milk, but he drinks A LOT. Even the baby sitter has trouble. Please someone give me suggestions!
I never said my kid was STILL eating baby food. He used to love the variety of food I used to give him when he was on it. He has been off of baby food since 11 mo old. He has just been picky. I was hoping for suggestions on what to feed him. He only eats a couple bites of this and that which we are eating but never a whole bowl. Please, I would like suggestions/advice. Not what I should or should not be doing..Thank you.
I had the same problem. My doctor told me to keep the milk to no more than 24 ounces per day. My son could have a 6 ounce glass of juice and unlimited water. The problem is drinking too much milk in most cases. The child will fill up on milk then refuse to eat a balanced diet. He also recommended no drinks with meals. Have a glass of milk then an hour or two later feed a meal.
Also try making food fun. Children this age love food cut into shapes. Disney makes mickey shaped cheese (available at Walmart) there are colorful pastas that come in many shapes and colors.
