Severe cough - could it be teething?

My 8 month old daughter has been coughing for about a week. She also has a runny nose and is teething pretty badly. Of course, all symptoms intensify at night time, but the past two days she's been coughing during the day as well. I took her to the dr already, to check her lungs and they're clear. At night we use the cool mist humidifier, rub her chest with baby vix vapor rub, we elevated her mattress - but nothing seems to help. She eats solids (no. 2) and drinks formula (Similac Organic, powder). I thought she might be reacting to the meat (chicken and turkey) or cereal, so I stopped giving them to her 2-3 days ago but nothing changed. Could all this be because of teething??

Have you changed washing powder or anything in her room that maybe has caused areaction, pets could be another thing was she in contact with something unfamilar? If your not happy i would take her back to the Dr, check throat & ears keep an eye on her temperature. Also changes in temperature inside/outside can affect them, dont put it down to teething which it could be, they are too precious to take a chance. good luck
